I feel truly blessed to be a professional singer, as well as using my skills to teach and work for Kent Music as an administrator. I have worked in cathedral music for several years, notably becoming the first woman to sing at Lincoln in 2011 in what was formerly an all-male back row. I also deputise with the BBC Singers, which is always a pleasure. I enjoy early music as well as modern choral works such as James MacMillan’s Miserere, but a bit of Aurora, Muse or Frank Sinatra is equally enjoyable depending on my mood. When I’m not singing around the house or in a cathedral, you can find me in the garden, reading a book, walking the dog with my one-year-old, practising archery with family or doing a spot of yoga. I’m an explorer at heart - as well as finding new spots to walk, I enjoy discovering new songs through teaching and performing and I think I’m in the minority when I say that I love sight-singing. There’s something exciting about hearing a piece of music for the first time and being part of it. I’m still relatively new to Kent, having moved here in 2021, but it’s been a pleasure getting to know the Kent Music team and calling this my home.
